In the Aloe Care Essentials package, you’ll find a 4G Smart Hub, a help button, and both lanyard and wristband attachments for the help button. On the surface, this all looks pretty standard for a medical alert system, but let’s take a closer look at the Smart Hub.
Like most medical alert base units, the Aloe Care Smart Hub functions as your connection to trained emergency professionals. It has both a speaker and microphone, allowing you to communicate with care agents in the event of an emergency, by pressing either the help button or the large black button on the center of the Smart Hub.
In addition to the large, black help button, there are also some other handy controls. A unique feature of Aloe Care’s Smart Hub is that it allows you to call not only the monitoring center but also loved ones and caregivers.
By pressing this button, you can send a check-in request to a primary caregiver. This button sends a check-in request to all caregivers. Using Aloe Care’s free app, caregivers can place calls directly to your Smart Hub. By pressing this button, you can accept the calls. Alternatively, you can press this button to deny them.
Caregivers and the emergency response system can also be contacted through voice commands. Here’s a demonstration:
The Smart Hub also detects the air quality, temperature, and activity levels of the user. All of these metrics and more can be accessed through the Aloe Care App. If you plan to get Aloe Care for your loved one, then you’ll definitely want to make sure you have a smartphone. This way you’ll have access to all of the caregiver features.
Here, on the home screen, you’ll see some information pulled from the Smart Hub. You’ll see the temperature, air quality, device status, and mobility alerts.
Beneath this, you’ll notice a list of recent check-in calls. To place a check-in call, you simply press on this purple button, and your phone will connect to your loved one’s Smart Hub.
You’ll also find a messages tab. This is a great way for a team of caregivers to negotiate a routine of care for their loved one. For example, let’s say my loved one placed a distress call. Not only will the app notify them of the call, but I could also let them know that I’m checking on the situation.
Through this app, you can also add contacts, in addition to setting medication reminders and adding devices such as the Aloe Care mobile companion, smart fall sensor, or motion sensors.
The Aloe Care essentials package costs $149.99 for the equipment and then a monthly charge of $29.99. This monthly fee covers both the Smart Hub’s 4G cellular connection and 24/7 access to the Aloe Care monitoring center.
Overall, I would definitely recommend the Aloe Care Essentials package. It’s a simple and effective way to keep your loved one connected, both with family members and emergency responders. The Aloe Care app makes it easy to stay organized with multiple caregivers, perfect for family members who live nearby, and I love the voice command capabilities.
